Health Economics Workshop

The Health Economics Workshop (HEW) is an interdisciplinary workshop that features participants from the Social and Biological Sciences Divisions, several professional schools (Business, Law, Public Policy, and Social Service Administration), and faculty from outside the University of Chicago.

Held weekly, HEW is an important venue to present research in the areas of health economics, medical decision-making, health services research, health policy, and topics related to population health. It also provides a forum for professional development and mentoring of students and junior faculty.

Workshops are organized by faculty members Fabrice Smieliauskas, and Kavi Bhalla.

Funding for the 2017-2018 series is provided by CHeSSthe Department of Public Health Sciencesthe Harris School of Public Policy Studies, and the AHRQ Health Services Research Training Program. Sign up to receive HEW announcements here

Workshops for Spring Quarter are held on Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 pm in Harris Room 344 (1155 East 60th Street Chicago, IL 60637), unless otherwise noted.

This Fall quarter, CHeSS will only hold Health Economics Workshops (HEW) on the weeks in which there will be no MacLean Center seminars, including: October 25, November 8, and November 29. We strongly encourage participating in the 2018-2019 MacLean Center series in place of HEW.
