Health Economics Workshop

The Health Economics Workshop (HEW) is an interdisciplinary workshop that features participants from the Social and Biological Sciences Divisions, several professional schools (Business, Law, Public Policy, and Social Service Administration), and faculty from outside the University of Chicago.

Held weekly, HEW is an important venue to present research in the areas of health economics, medical decision-making, health services research, health policy, and topics related to population health. It also provides a forum for professional development and mentoring of students and junior faculty.

Workshops are organized by faculty members Fabrice Smieliauskas, and Kavi Bhalla.

Funding for the 2018-2019 series is provided by CHeSSthe Department of Public Health Sciencesthe Harris School of Public Policy Studies, and the AHRQ Health Services Research Training Program. Sign up to receive HEW announcements here

Workshops are held on Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 pm in Room H300 (also known as W300). Access is easiest from the Goldblatt entrance to the Medical Center at 860 E 59th Street. Turn right at the information desk, take the A West elevator to the 3rd floor. Upon exiting the elevator, turn right into the W3 hallway, following the corridor. You will continue down this hallway, past the glass "fishbowl" area. At the end of this hallway, you’ll see a small kitchen area and our conference room H300.
